I SHARE the concern expressed by the Bar Council president that there would be a surfeit of lawyers in Malaysia in years to come unless we do something about it now. I offer the following suggestions to find a solution to it: ? WITHDRAW the recent recognition given to the Advanced Diploma in Law from ITM to he on par with the L.L.B and Barrister at law qualifications; ? ONLY those law graduates from both legal and foreign university who have at least a second class honours degree to be admitted to the Malaysia Bar and ? RECOGNISE only the law degree from selected British and foreign universities and polytechnics. These steps may be harsh to some but there should not be any compromise as far as the administration of justice is concerned. ROGER TAN, Yong Peng, Johore. 27.08.1986
